Where Facebook keeps your watch history

Facebook keeps a list of the videos you play while you are logged in. It is called Videos you've watched, and it sits in your Activity Log, not in the Video tab. That is why so many people think the history is gone. It is still there, one level deeper.

The first button at the top of this page skips the menus and opens that list. Each video shows with the day you watched it. Tap one to play it again.

Find it yourself on a computer

Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
Click Settings & privacy, then Activity Log.
Open Your activity across Facebook.
Click Videos you've watched. It sits with your posts.

Reels you watched show up in the same list. Since 2025, Facebook posts every new video as a reel.

In the app on Android and iPhone

On a phone, a facebook.com link often opens the Facebook app, and the app may stop on its home screen instead of your list. Then take the short way through the app:

Tap Menu, then tap your name.
Tap the three dots under your profile picture, then Activity Log.
Tap Your activity across Facebook.
Tap Filters, then Categories, and choose Videos you've watched.

The steps are the same on Android and iPhone. Prefer the browser? Press and hold the button above, choose Open in new tab, and log in to Facebook there.

How to clear your Facebook watch history

Open your list with the Clear my watch history button at the top of this page.
Tap Clear video watch history at the top of the list.
Confirm. The list starts again with the next video you watch.

To remove just one video, tap the three dots next to it and choose Delete. Clearing the list does not remove your likes, comments or saved videos. Each of those has its own place in the Activity Log.

Common questions

Did Facebook remove video history?

No. It moved. The list now lives in your Activity Log, under Videos you've watched, instead of in the Video tab. The button at the top of this page opens it in one tap.

How do I see reels I watched on Facebook?

Open your watch history with the button above. Reels count as videos now, so they appear in the same list. Reels you saved are in your Saved list, and reels you liked are in the app.

How do I clear my Facebook watch history?

Open the list with the Clear my watch history button, tap Clear video watch history at the top and confirm. To remove one video, tap the three dots next to it and choose Delete.

Can anyone else see my Facebook watch history?

No. Only you can see your Activity Log, and the list of videos you watched is part of it.

Why is my watch history empty?

The list only holds videos you played while logged in to this profile. Videos watched logged out, in a private window or on another profile do not show. After you clear it, it fills again from the next video.

Can I see what videos someone else watched?

No. Facebook shows this list only to the person who watched. It is not on their profile, and no site can open it.
