Where your blocked list is on Facebook

Your blocked list sits in Settings, under Audience and visibility, in a section called Blocking. Facebook moved it there when it redesigned its settings, which is why so many people think the list disappeared. It did not. Only the path changed.

The button at the top of this page opens Blocking directly. To find it yourself on a computer:

Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook.
Click Settings & privacy, then Settings.
Under Audience and visibility, click Blocking.
Click Edit next to Block profiles and Pages, then See your blocked list.

In the Facebook app

Tap Menu.
Scroll down and tap Settings & privacy, then Settings.
Scroll to Audience and visibility and tap Blocking.
Your list appears. Tap Unblock next to a name to unblock that person.

The steps are the same on Android and iPhone. If the button on this page opens the app on its home screen, follow these steps. Or press and hold the button, choose Open in new tab, and log in to Facebook in the browser.

Before you unblock someone

Unblocking takes one tap and a confirm. The person is not told. They can see your public posts again and find you in search.

You do not become friends again on your own. If you want that, send a new friend request. And think it over first: after you unblock a profile, Facebook makes you wait a few days before you can block it again.

People you blocked, or people who blocked you?

This list only shows the people you blocked. Facebook keeps no list of people who blocked you, and it never tells you. If a profile suddenly vanished for you, the blocked-or-deactivated checker helps you tell a block from a deactivated account.

Blocking works per profile. If you have a second Facebook profile, it has its own blocked list. And if someone you blocked has another profile, that one is not blocked until you block it too.

Common questions

How do I see my blocked list on Facebook?

Tap the button at the top of this page. Or go to Settings & privacy, Settings, and Blocking under Audience and visibility. On a computer, click Edit, then See your blocked list.

Why did my Facebook blocked list disappear?

It moved. Facebook now keeps it under Settings, Audience and visibility, Blocking. The list is still there, with every person you blocked.

How do I unblock someone on Facebook?

Open your blocked list, tap Unblock next to their name and confirm. They are not notified, and you need to send a new friend request if you want to be friends again.

Can I see who blocked me on Facebook?

No. Facebook keeps no list of people who blocked you. You can only read the signs, like a profile that your friends can see and you cannot.

Why is someone missing from my blocked list?

You may have blocked them from another of your profiles, since each profile has its own list. Or they have more than one profile and you blocked a different one.
