Facebook never tells you that you were blocked. You can only read it from the signs, and each sign on its own has another possible cause. Put two or three together and the picture gets clear:
Their profile shows "This content isn't available right now" when you are logged in.
Their name no longer comes up when you search for it, while a friend can still find them.
They are gone from your friends list, but mutual friends still have them in theirs.
In Messenger, the chat says you can't reply to this conversation.
The profile opens normally in a private, logged-out window.
If most of that fits, a block is the likely reason. If the profile is gone in the private window too, it is more likely deactivated.
Blocked or deactivated: the difference
A block hides a profile from one account: yours. Everyone else still sees it, and so do logged-out visitors. Deactivation hides the profile from everyone at once. The name drops out of search and the profile link stops working for all.
A deactivated account can come back at any time, exactly as it was. A deleted account has a 30-day grace period and is then gone for good. From the outside, the two look the same, and so does a third, rarer case: an account Facebook disabled itself.
Can you see a profile that blocked you?
Not from your own account. That is what a block does, and no website changes it. Logged out, you still see the public front of the profile: the name, the profile picture, the cover photo and any public posts. The rest stays hidden from you while the block stands.
Getting around a block with another account goes against Facebook's rules on unwanted contact. If you need to reach the person, a mutual friend is the usual way.
