When a friends list is visible

Facebook has one setting for this, Who can see your friends list, and it defaults to Public. A large share of profiles never change it. When it is public, the Friends tab shows everyone, with a search box and the mutual friends first. When it is set to Friends, you see it only if you are one. When it is Only me, the tab shows mutual friends and nothing else.

Paste the profile link above and open Friends under People. If the list is public, Facebook shows it in full. If it is not, you get the mutual friends, which is often enough to work out who someone is close to.

Family, co-workers and classmates

Facebook stores relationships as separate fields. Family members are listed on the About page under Family and relationships. Co-workers are people who list the same employer, and classmates are people who list the same school. StalkFace builds a link for each of those, so you can open the co-workers of a profile without knowing where they work.

Those links depend on what people filled in. A profile with no workplace has no co-worker list, and a school added by nobody else has no classmates.

Narrowing the list

Use the Gender, Age and Relationship selectors above the grid. Facebook applies them to the friends link.
Mutual friends are always on top, so scroll past them for the rest.
Locals shows friends who live in the person's current city.

Common questions

What if their friend list is hidden?

Then nothing shows. A hidden friend list stays hidden. This only reaches what the person has already made public.

Can I filter the results?

Yes. Once you paste a profile you can narrow by gender, age and relationship status before opening a link.

Does Facebook tell the person?

No. StalkFace never touches their account. It builds a search link, and Facebook does not notify anyone about searches or profile views.

Can I see a hidden friends list?

No. When the list is set to Only me, Facebook shows only the friends you have in common. Nothing changes that.

Does the person know I looked at their friends list?

No. Facebook does not report who opened a friends list or a profile.
